The list of publications includes: books, legislative documents, various unpublished studies, documents submitted for a patent, notes, maps, photographs, video, audio, computer programs.

A mandatory copy is a very significant partin the publishing of books. Thanks to him, unique content is collected, important documents and discoveries are registered, a national fund is being formed. In addition, due to such compulsory copies transferred to the Book Chamber, international exchange of books takes place.

Also from the Book Chamber, some specimens are sent to the country's largest libraries and museums. In total, 19 institutions receive mandatory copies.

The introduction of a binding copy in Europe

In Europe, a binding copy began to applyin France in the 15th century. In Russia, this practice began with the end of the 17th century. Then the Book Chamber was located in St. Petersburg, and after the revolution of 1917 it was moved to the city of Petrograd. In Ukraine, organizations that need toto send an obligatory copy are regional National Libraries. In some cases it is necessary to send documents to other state organizations. For example, organizations in which it is necessary to send a mandatory copy are the Cabinet of Ministers, the Verkhovna Rada and the President's office.
