Authenticity is a single essence, dispersed on the verge of different scientific spheres

Authenticity is what? We often encounter this notion in everyday life, and when immersed in specific areas. It is interesting that the meaning of the word "authenticity" can be radically different depending on the context in which it is used. Initially, the term comes from the Greek word "authenticus", which literally meant authenticity. Thus, authenticity is a certain authenticity of properties and beginnings. However, the sonorous term was borrowed by representatives of several scientific directions at the same time, which entailed the branching of definitions of the same concept. Let's consider the main ones.

Authenticity is a concept from psychology

Psychologists use this concept, meaningthe individual's comprehension of his own feelings and experiences, his access to his own consciousness from various sides, the integrity of this very consciousness. An authentic person (in other words this is called congruence) is an integral person. He is himself without pretense or "fleeing" from his own fears and dependencies. An example of

conscious incongruence may be a lie,simulation, a different kind of pretense. If such a phenomenon is manifested independently of the will of man, it is a mental disorder. So, for example, psychotherapists use the concept of "authenticity" when they describe the process of frank psychic communication between a therapist and a patient. Perhaps, from all the definitions of the term in the psychological context, he was the most confused. However, here again it means some kind of authenticity (and at the same time, integrity).

Authenticity is also from a number of humanitarian spheres

Indeed, the term is used inhistory, art, copyright issues. For example, in the latter case, the concept of authenticity is used when it is necessary to protect the creator's rights to a cultural product: text, music, video, and so on. Assignment of an authentic (the same) product by another person is called plagiarism and is prosecuted by law. However, the redesign of the authentic text in

only formally different (change of a part of notes,rearrangement of phrases in the sentence, and so on) is also prohibited, although it is much more difficult to trace. For art critics, the term means the correspondence of the actual content of certain content (the same music, text, works of painting, and so on). As we have already noted, authenticity is what distinguishes the original from plagiarism. The same is practiced in art, but not in order to protect legislation, but to preserve cultural heritage. In literature, painting, music, these works differ from copies (pirate fakes, if modern slang is used) for small details, manner and technique, style that are inherent in the author, and so on. Authenticity in the mouth of a historian-researcher or archaeologist will mean a true artifact, a material thing that has come down to us from the depths of centuries. Such relics are important because they can tell a lot about the past of mankind.
